Racking for loads on pallets is a steel construction that requires specialist knowledge of cold-formed thin-walled profiles, the strength of materials, and the phenomena of bending and structural instability. Feralco has taken part in researching "rules for calculating shelving" and worked out recommendations for users of shelving, to guarantee optimum safety conditions.

For each installation the user must define :

• The load to be stored,
• The operating conditions
• The environment

Today, Feralco uses the methods of calculation laid down in European standard IN 15512 to size up its installations.
These latest standards profit from advances of Eurocode 3 (European standard for the calculation of structures) and make it possible to check and refine each component with accuracy.
Feralco will of course, supply a calculation sheet for each installation completed, which can be verified by testing station.
